Due to a technical problem, it was temporarily not possible to purchase French and German SkypeIn numbers. The issue has now been resolved and we're back to normal. Thanks for your patience.
January 2008
When accessing your account page on the Skype website, it is currently not possible to change your caller identification settings for SkypeOut calls.
[RESOLVED] IE6 users seeing multiple browser windows open while making purchase through Skype client
Skype users who have Internet Exporer version 6 installed on their computer may notice that when making payments from within Skype software, several blank IE windows are opened.
This happens when users enter the payment flow from the "My Account" link in Skype -- in addition to payment pages, up to ten blank IE windows open as well. Also, when trying to enter the payment flow under "Buy Skype Credit", the front page begins loading and then freezes.
This is a technical issue that we are in the process of fixing. Until the issue is resolved, we suggest making your payments either from "My Account" within Skype software, or from the Skype website.
Apologies for the annoyance. We'll take care of it.
UPDATE: Issue has been resolved on 24th January at 12:03 GMT
Some Skype users who have subscribed for Skype Pro for five or 12 months may see an incorrectly scheduled next-payment date in their subscription list.
According to the text these users see, the next payment is scheduled to arrive one month after the initial subscription to Skype Pro. The message is echoed by an email that contains similar information.
In fact, no money will be taken from the affected subscribers' accounts on the noted payment date. We are working to fix the issue and make sure that Skype Pro subscribers are shown the correct next-payment date.
Recently, about 1,300 Skype Pro users in North America have been affected by a bug in our billing system. When calling landlines or cell phones, these users have seen their calls being disconnected after six seconds. As of 6.20 AM EST today, the problem has been fixed.
There is never a good time for our users to run into a problem like this. We understand your frustration and we are very sorry.
To help our relationship get back on track, we'll begin sending emails to each known affected Skype Pro user with an electronic voucher that can then be redeemed for 10 dollars in Skype credit. In case you wish to discuss the specifics of your case, please write an email to sixsecondcalls@skype.com and someone from the Skype team will get in touch with you soon.
Meanwhile, we promise to become more vigilant in the future, in working to nip similar problems in the bud, wherever they may try to manifest themselves. May your Skype conversations live long and prosper.
//As of January 11, the issue has been resolved//
It has come to our attention that some Skype Pro users are experiencing dropped calls. We are investigating the issue and will fix it as soon as possible.
